Who we are:
In December of 2003, a number of private foster and group care operators came together with common ideals and a common purpose. Most private operators in Ontario today firmly believe in maintaining our rights as derived under our free market system and in a free society while at the same time providing, along lines of excellence, the finest quality of service and the highest devotion to the children and youth we serve. These same operators also firmly believe in providing such services in the most cost-efficient manner possible out of commitment and respect for Ontario's taxpayers.
It was further recognised that the time has come for an organization that would represent and protect such precepts in an active and constructive way, thereby securing the present and enhancing the future for Ontario's OPR Sector who provide quality service to Ontario's children and youth in the most cost-efficient manner possible.
It was further recognised that it was time for an organisation that would also actively aid and lead in enhancing the practices and quality of service provided by Ontario's private operators.
